<div dir="ltr">I am working right now with a <a href="http://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/hdhomerun-ca-canada/">HDHomerun tuner</a> connected to my wired home network at one end, and an <a href="http://www.channelmaster.com/ULTRAtenna_CM_4221HD_s/44.htm">attic-mounted antenna</a> at the other. The HDHR has explicit support for MythTV and from XBMC, but I'm trying to make it work with a lighter-weight Linux back-end called TVheadend instead of Myth.<div>
<br></div><div>My ultimate goal, is to give multiple TVs in the house access to the dual-tuner HDHR, in some cases using RaspBMC.</div><div><div><br></div></div><div>While waiting for this to work, I take advantage of HDHR's native support for Windows Media Center -- while use and watching is plug-and-play, the online schedule downloads are not. :-P</div>

</div>I use a rogers 4250HD cable box with a an HD-PVR USB encoder connected<br>
via component video, with a firewire link to the 4250HD for channel<br>
changing and power control. This works quite well and rarely has issues.<br>
Not cheap given you are looking at close to $500 in hardware per input<br>
for recording. On the other hand you get to record full HD from the<br>
digital signal (although using an analog connection for the video. Audio<br>
can be either analog stereo, or spdif digital (including suround sound)).<br>
